Problem

As part of the One Outlook preview, a new default theme was needed to reflect the new fresh direction of Outlook. The design had to work with the existing code structure found in Outlook web.

Solution

Worked with engineering to understand how themes and modes are defined. Surveyed the colors used in the office desktop applications. Mocked up new theme designs and worked with stakeholders to ensure the designs met requirements. Created red-lines for final design. Continue to consult with engineering as the new themes were implemented to answer design questions.
